![]() About 7. Kompanie We are a chartered unit of the WW2 Historical Reenactment Society. All new members must join the HRS. Contact the commander for more information. 7. Kompanie is a living-history/tactical simulation (reenacting) unit that was founded in March 2000 and portrays a Panzergrenadier (Armored Infantry) Zug (Platoon) of SS Panzergrenadier Regiment 23 NORGE. We attend Eastern Front events where we merge living history, in the field and barracks, with tactical simulation. We also attend public display events where we strive to give the public a glimpse into the life of a German soldier on the Eastern Front. 7. Kompanie strives to give its members an insight into what it was like to be a member of the Waffen-SS fighting on the Eastern Front during the last nine months (September 1944-May 1945) of the Second World War. We accomplish this through the emphasis of training in period drill/marching, field tactics, through the use of period arms and equipment, collecting and using the soldiers "odds and ends," eating authentic food packaged in an authentic manner and sleeping in field/combat conditions. The reward we get from the hard work in training, the many weekends we spend in the field (in all types of weather), the thousands of dollars we spend on uniforms, gear, machine guns, and restoring period vehicles, is a small insight into the life of a wartime soldier. Additionally, we are able to share with the public the knowledge we gain. The unit has a rank structure and members are held to a high standard in terms of authenticity and military bearing. We expect our members and candidates to conduct themselves as an elite soldier would, in other words, we expect our members and candidates to "play the role" while in uniform. The leadership does not expect any member or candidate to do something that they themselves are not willing to do. 7. Kompanie, NORGE exists for the member's enjoyment, as a research tool, and to remember the devotion to duty, comrades, and unit, under the most extreme circumstances, of the original Division. This is an expensive hobby and 7.Kompanie has very high authenticity standards. Our standards require only the highest quality reproductions or good condition originals. We require that our members purchase only good quality wool uniforms, no other types are permitted. This drives the cost up considerably but the end effect is more than worth the initial cost. For a general list of uniforms and equipment necessary for participation see the "Getting Started" page. We have a certain amount of rental uniforms and gear and are willing to rent the new candidate a uniform, set of gear, and a rifle for a small fee. By the third event we expect the new candidate to be well on his way to owning his own uniforms, gear, and rifle. | Return Home | About Us | Getting Started | Events Schedule | Vehicles | Contact Us | WWII Links | Event Pictures | |
